An 18th c. Louis XV Country French armoire from Burgundy, made of solid walnut and cherry with a chapeau de gendarme crown. Beautiful patterned knots in the wood are nicely framed on the three panels of each door. Floral vines, hand carved in low relief, decorate the front. All pegged construction with pine as the secondary wood. Interior has three new shelves and one shaped top shelf. Warm waxed patina. Hardware is original and the lock with key is in working condition. This armoire has nice proportions and is in great condition for its age with only minor restoration. Circa 1740-1760. 89.5"h x 23.5"d x 50.5"w. The width at the crown is 58.5" and the inside depth is 21" . Offered by Olivier Fleury, Inc.
