1960s Mid-Century Modern Lawrence Peabody for Nemschoff Side Chairs - a Pair
Two fully restored mid-century chairs designed by Lawrence Peabody for Nemschoff, sold as a pair. Elegant lines, tufting and tapered teak legs makes this design a classic, appropriate in just about any living space. Professional restoration done by Chicago-based Perfect Finish. Chairs were stripped to the bare frame and re-stained. The seats were rebuilt with new webbing and hand-tied coils followed by fresh cotton batting, padding and dacron foam. The fabric, by Duralee, is a warm “oyster” with tonal nuances created by a raised pattern. One of the original tags, (re-attached), dates the manufacture to 1966. A third chair, (nfs), retains an original, sewn tag which can be seen in the last picture.
