1960s Philip & Kelvin LaVerne Etruscan Round Coffee Table
Etruscan Round table with architectural pedestal base in heavily patinated bronze and pewter with hand applied enamel by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne. This piece would have likely been produced between 1965-1970. The enamels are primarily goldenrod, chartreuse and a rich orange. The table was intended as a coffee or cocktail table, but the size would also work well as a dramatically scaled side or end table—quite versatile. These designs were known for bridging the gap between modern and traditional styles. Philip and Kelvin pioneered a technique of burying their works in proprietary soil which would give the metal heavy patinas that implied age. This piece is an excellent example of the Etruscan Round series and is in very good vintage condition with age appropriate light wear. This piece is available to view at our NYC showroom in Chelsea!
