19th Century English Regency Parcel-Gilt Chinoiserie Settee, circa 1815
Magnificent and rare lacquered and gilt Regency settee. Carved of mahogany and turned to resemble bamboo, the spindles, rails, and styles are elaborately decorated with Chinese inspired motifs follow in the style inspired by John Nashs Brighton Pavilion The piece also bears its original French silk upholstery with vibrant, red, green, and gold which dramatically offset the frame of the bench. A truly exceptional piece. England, circa 1815.
