Early 19th century French Empire bronze inkwell cast in the form of Napoleon’s casket resting upon a three step base. The well is lined in blue velvet and features a shroud-form cover with a crown finial, as well as a lid bearing the inscription “Napoleon Empereur et Roi Morta St. Helene Le V Mai MDCCCXXI” above a laurel wreath.
