19th Century Swedish Gustavian Bench

Sorry, this product is no longer available on Dering Hall.

There is also a ‘sister‘bench available. Please inquire for details. This is a richly carved 19th century Swedish painted long bench in the Gustavian style. There is a carved guilloche pattern on the seat frame and carved rosettes above fluted, round caps, ending in tapered and fluted legs. Chalky Gustavian gray-white paint finish.

The Gustavian style, named after King Gustav III of Sweden, is a restrained interpretation of the French Louis XV and Louis XVI style. King Gustav III was enamored with the neoclassical style and therefore created his own interpretation for Sweden. Offered by Maison & Co.
