19th Century Victorian Walnut and Marble English Dental Cabinet
Spectacular Victorian era dental cabinet executed in solid walnut, walnut burl veneer, and marble. The retailer, Claudius Ash & Sons, was a major supplier to the dental profession in the 19th and early 20th century. This handmade cabinet has a number of marvelous features, including 18 drawers in a variety of sizes, including hidden drawers behind a faux drawer cabinet door (middle section on the right) and slim porcelain-lined drawers in the top section; locking drawers and cabinet; cubbyholes and a bottle storage rack in the topmost section; a large cabinet area at the bottom; red figured marble counter; fitted and sliding trays within drawers; hand dovetailing; brass casters; side shelves. The structure of the cabinet is solid walnut. Each drawer and cabinet door is decorated with burled walnut veneer. Pulls are turned wood. The original key remains with the cabinet. Beautifully proportioned and scaled for modern homes, the cabinet is 68" high, 16 1/2" deep, and 32" wide. This size will allow it to fit just about anywhere.
