A Fine Italian Table, c. 1840

Sorry, this product is no longer available on Dering Hall.

A remarkable tilt top table of “Etruscan” design probably by Gabriele Capello (1806-1879) commonly known as “Il Moncalvo”. Capello often collaborated with designer Filipp Pelagio Pelagi (1775-1860). Pelagi was in charge of the decoration of Royal Palaces including Racconigi. The classical anthemia and floral motifs and use of exotic woods are indicative of the Etruscan designs employed by Pelagi. Turin, Italy, circa 1840. Offered by G. Sergeant Antiques
