Provenance: Earle Jorgensen residence designed by William “Billy” Haines between 1960-1965.
For more than forty years Billy Haines created some of the most celebrated and glamorous homes in Southern California. In Class Act: William Haines Legendary Hollywood Decorator, p. 219, Pilar Viladas describes the Hostess Chair, “…[it] embodies all that Haines contributed to this [design] profession. It acknowledges designs historical continuum, but with a light touch; it is luxurious without being ostentatious; and it is practical without looking dowdy. A difficult balancing act, to be sure, but Haines made it look effortless.” . Offered by H.M. Luther
