Watercolour and ink 15″ × 22″

Anthony Gross, 1905 – 1984,was born in Dulwich, South London. Elder child and only son of Alexander Gross (1880-1958), a Hungarian-born map publisher of Jewish descent, and Isabelle Crowley (1886-1938). Gross was appointed a CBE in 1982. The elegant frame is finished in distressed and burnished white gold on gesso.
