Antique Duncan Phyfe Style Victorian Blue Claw Foot Sofa
Antique couch sofa could be a Duncan Phyfe could be Hickory Tannery Ellsworth could be something else beautiful dated early 1800s or would be my guess. Was reupholstered blue had some damaged pieces fixed on it overall it is a solid functional sofa that looks great. The story behind the sofa is kind of cool. Through the series of events I had the privilege to meet Stanley mouse the artist who painted The grateful Dead album covers and many others. While I was in his studio I had the privilege to sit on this couch. At that time he nonchalantly mentioned that he would sell the couch. I didn’t hesitate and purchasedthe couch immediately. My wife and I have decided to pass the couch on because we are afraid that our children will be too rough on it and we would love to see it find a new home. At that same visit with Stanley mouse in appreciation of the work we did for him, he gifted us with three copies of his artwork. For authenticity of the story we will include those three pieces of artwork with the couch if the purchaser would like them.
