Early banister-back yoke-back armchair in old black paint over the original black.
This graceful chair boasts beautiful vase and ring turnings under the sloping arms and double sausage-turned front stretchers. It has its full height and is in excellent condition, with only a small chip out of one turning. The paper rush seat is, of course, not original but is also in excellent condition. Circa 1780, Hudson Valley or Connecticut.
