Basquiat Keith Haring Poster
Based on Basquiat’s famous 1983 drawing of Keith Haring – this print is licensed by The Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat and from a sold out edition sold at Barbican London during the 2017 Basquiat exhibit, Boom For Real. An estate licensed, 2017, off-set print of Basquiat’s ‘Keith Haring in Milan’ (1983). 11×14 inches. Excellent condition. Well-suited for framing. Further background “Basquiat and Haring were both recognizable artists in the 1980s New York art scene due to their distinct styles and often sociopolitical subject matter. In this particular work, Basquiat plays on these styles in order to legitimize both men as artists, as well as to legitimize them as intellectuals of social change. Haring’s figure is drawn in a rough yet controlled manner. The gestural coloring and prominent outlines of his body are emblematic of Basquiat’s signature style, as are the rigidly rendered arms and legs, which demonstrate Basquiat’s childlike approach to figuration.” (Christie’s, 2014)
