Bradstreet Grape Leaves Stained Glass Window Set
This incredible set of stained glass windows is attributed to John Bradstreet, a highly prominent craftsman in Minneapolis during the turn-of-the-century. Working out of the Minneapolis Crafthouse, he was an influential “taste-maker” in his pursuit of more avant-garde ideas. On multiple occasions, Bradstreet visited Japan, which influenced his designs and led to the development of his unique style of woodworking. His interiors have been preserved in a number of stately Minneapolis homes. Sure enough, this window set came out of one of these homes.
Textured green and yellow leaves mingle with iridescent grapes, and free-form leaded detailing cascades down to create long, tendril-like vines. Warm yellow glass surrounds the organic ornamentation, and strong vertical and horizontal lines throughout add a sense of balance. One side of the frame is painted a slate blue-grey, and the other is stained a rich, natural brown.
We have two sets of matching windows available, and they are sold separately.
