Concentric Hoop Chandelier
Sir Edwin Lutyens designed this striking chandelier for Marsh Court in Hampshire before 1910, thus making it one of the first custom made electric chandelier designs. It remains as classic a piece today as it was then.
Lutyens’s original design called for the hoops to be decorated with a striking chequer board design. His 1300mm/51" lower hoop carried sixteen drops with his hallmark tassel concealing the bulb and sitting above a glass saucer.
We have adapted the design to allow for any diameter of lower hoop between 800mm/31.5" and upwards and eight drops and and any even number upwards. We offer both Lutyens’s chequer board effect and any solid stain or paint finish and we also offer the fitting with a Cardinal Hat lower cage (see our Cardinal Hat light) and a tassel suspended below.
