Contemporary Abstract Painting, "Sunset Over Fields" by Stephen Remick

Chairish

Sorry, this product is no longer available on Dering Hall.

Titled “Sunset over Fields”. The glow of the cloud left a blanket of its color to the field below. This is in the Mad River Valley in the towns of Waitsfield and Warren in central Vermont. Painted in 2018, this acrylic on a 3/4" wood panel measures 16" high by 20" wide. It’s unframed with the edge of the panel showing some of paint from the front, and the natural wood support slightly darkened with a glaze. This can be seen from the side view photos. This adds an immediacy and freshness to the painting, showing a little bit of the working process. Please look at the images carefully. This is painted very loosely with quick brushstrokes in a painterly manner with texture. It has a glossy sheen as shown in the side view photos. There are two other sister paintings to this one if they haven’t sold yet in my shop. About the artist: Stephen Remick was born and raised in Vermont. He earned a BFA in Painting from Swain School of Design, a small art school in Massachusetts. He resides in a coastal New England town with his wife, Anne Carrozza Remick, who is also an artist on Chairish. (Steve and Anne’s daughter, Tess Remick, is on Chairish too.) Steve’s paintings are in private collections all over the U.S. and abroad.
