San Francisco design firm Woodson & Woodson updates a Presidio Heights kitchen to brighten the foggy view.
Vaughan Woodson of San Francisco design firm, Woodson & Woodson is is known for her elegant and modern designs. When hired to give the kitchen of a 6,500-square-foot home home a facelift, she was honored to work with a client and team that easily embraced her aesthetic.
The client, a mother who runs her family business and an avid philanthropist, had a clear vision of how to brighten the hub of her home. Her selection of buttery yellow walls that maintain a fresh feel throughout the day were cooled by Woodsoon’s layering of modern metals, traditional stone and artistic wood treatments.
Keeping the existing footprint, Woodson updated the kitchen with an innovative mix of finishes and refreshed the entire lighting plan, resulting in a gallery for a portion of the owner’s collection of modern art. The captivating gray-blue patterned floor, stenciled with an octagon-shaped print by by Willem Racké Studio, is very aesthetically in tune with the owner’s Scandinavian heritage.
A Caesarstone and ceurused wood island mimicking a large baker’s table, is the nucleus of the room. Stainless steel glass-framed cabinetry flanks the store, providing this modern update with the perfect finish.
Positioned atop San Francisco’s historic Presidio neighborhood, the kitchen with vast views, is often clouded by fog.
