Featured Room: Showstopping Library

I’ve already featured one room in this home designed by Kelly Wearstler on coco+kelley, but I couldn’t help but showcase another one that’s just as equally breathtaking. I mean … the staircase alone is worthy of a mention!

The thing is that I’m a total sucker for libraries. What an extravagance to have in your home – a room devoted to books and study and quiet. I always think they do well when they’re a little bit moody with a hint of history. A spiral staircase instead of a traditional library ladder just happens to top things off. How beautiful is the wall color, too?

You can tell that the room changes so much in different light – especially crazy Seattle light which is where the home is located. I have to say that overall I was surprised at how dark the overall design was for the house, but in this room it makes the most sense. The scale of the room and the pieces in it is visually stunning.

The editors at Elle Decor must have liked it too – enough to show it in every angle! I’d like to personally thank them for that on this one. I think each image shows a different mood. I think Kelly killed it with this space. Sometimes her designs can get a bit over the top for me, but I love each piece in the room completely. What do you think?
