Design Shopping Tip: A Showroom Perk

We all love to shop online and via catalog, but did you know that there can be perks to actually going to the showrooms? I will share the greatest well kept secret with you - ONE OF A KIND pieces, off the floor.

Best kept secret in town. Did you know…
that Studio A Home, in addition to the beautiful product line on the website and in the catalog, has the most amazing selection of rare, one of a kind pieces in the showroom only? The treasures are perfect for designers who seek that extra special piece that they will never see anywhere else. The stories behind unique items and artifacts from around the world make any room conversation worthy. For example, the alabaster pieces above come from a farm in Tuscany, where a giant chunk of rare taupe alabaster was accidentally discovered in the ground, resulting in hand carved product specifically for Studio A Home. Each and every piece is unique and stunning. Here is a sampling of a few more of the hidden gems I discovered at Studio A Home; all for sale in the showroom only:

Detail of Camel Cart, repurposed into a fabulous cocktail table

Tiffin Boxes

Lingams (oversized river rock- granite, these stones are known for their for healing properties)

Camel Canteens

Uhli (very large brass vessel, India)

Wall mounted iron bowls.

Milk jug.

Vintage rice cutters from Cambodia. Hand carved wood, iron blade, acrylic case.

Interior Designers love one of a kind pieces and artifacts to transform their projects into spectacular spaces. There is a cultural feel, a history behind each and every one of the statement pieces in the Studio A Home showrooms, where they can be bought off the floor. If any of you are ever in Dallas, be sure to stop by the Studio A Home showroom to see artifacts and one of a kind pieces that are casually mixed in with the products. And whenever you go into any showroom, just ask if there is any product that you might not find in their catalog. How's that for a hot design tip?
