10 Master Bathroom Design Ideas from Our Favorite Homes

We've compiled a selection of our favorite master bathroom looks from homes across the U.S., created by design talents on Dering Hall. Whether your style is more California casual or New England Shingle style, there's inspiration here for you.

1. Zen Living. Shoji screens give the master bath in this Bay Area home designed by Kendall Wilkinson a decidedly Zen mood. The faceted white onyx tub is both functional and a stand-alone art piece. The side table with amethyst resin top on a polished nickel base is from Holly Hunt. The photography is by Lee Friedlander and Eugene Atget. See more of the home here >

2. Textured Detail. In this new Connecticut Shingle style home designed by Austin Patterson Disston Architects and Foley & Cox Interiors, the master bathroom was a unique look with a quilted stainless steel tub face. This textured detail complements the sleek Carrara marble used throughout the space. See more of the home here >

3. Custom Elegance. A custom-made teak and mother-of-pearl inlaid vanity and soaking tub are the height of laid-back elegance in the master bathroom of this modern home in the South of France designed by Carden Cunietti. Etched glass sliding doors open to the pool and outdoor areas and provide views of the stunning property. See more of the home here >

4. Neutral Luxury. The master bathroom in this lakefront Minneapolis house designed by Andrew Flesher is luxurious with linen covered walls, a large walk-in shower and a glass door that leads to an outdoor shower. The countertops, tub deck and flooring are Calcutta Gold marble. See more of the home here >

5. Natural Beauty. The master bathroom in this new home on Hawaii's Maui island designed by April Powers is a soothing oasis with teak panelling and organic accents. The vanity pendants are by John Pomp from De Sousa Hughes, and the chair, side table and counter stool are from McGuire. The bath fittings and cabinet hardware are from Waterworks. On the wall is a photograph by Bill Armstrong. See more of the home here >

6. Malibu Charm. In the master bathroom of her Malibu home, interior designer Vanessa Alexander used vintage lights and custom mirrors to create an open, relaxed feel that matches the beachy, Tuscan farmhouse-inspired look of the home. See more of the home here >

7. Masculine Sophistication. Interior design firm Lafia/Arvin, A Design Corporation brought a warm masculine look to the husband’s bathroom in this new Carpinteria, California, home with walnut paneling and cabinetry and silver travertine tile flooring by Ann Sacks. See more of the home here >

8. Indoor / Outdoor Modern. The master bathroom in this modernist Florida island home designed by KZ Architecture has a stunning view that is framed on either side by outdoor spaces that project towards the water. See more of the home here >

9. Timeless Comfort. In the master bathroom of this apartment on Chicago’s Gold Coast, design firm Vincere paired a soft wool and silk rug by Oscar Isberian with contemporary Snaidero cabinetry. Sconces from Restoration Hardware complete the timeless look. See more of the home here >

10. Contemporary Coastal. Interior designer Dorothee Junkin of DJDS created a spa-like atmosphere in this contemporary Vero Beach, Florida, master bathroom with calming white Thassos marble and dark teak.  Rounding out the relaxing space is the large soaking tub, which is set on a teak platform in front of a six-foot gas fireplace, and has ocean views. See more of the home here >
