Behind the Design

Designer to the Rescue: Scott Sanders

Working on a tight deadline, New York designer Scott Sanders used a vivid, sunny color and vibrant accessories to energize an elegant but faded house near the sea in southern New Jersey.

Sanders immediately enlivened the living room by painting the walls in Benjamin Moore's Golden Groves. The sconces over the original fireplace are by Remains Lighting, the blue club chairs are by Ralph Lauren Home, the console behind the sofa is from Bernd Goeckler Antiques, and the curtains are of a Schumacher linen. The cocktail table is by Paul Ferrante, the branch console and mirror are by John Roselli, the rug is by Sacco Carpet, and the painting by Andrew Masulo is from Feature Gallery.
