Inside a San Francisco Aerie by Suzanne Tucker

Long a doyenne of San Francisco design, Suzanne Tucker is known for her comfortable, classic rooms and sumptuous fabrics. But she also has a taste for refined modernism, as she proves with this apartment in a Pacific Heights high rise. The building dates from the 1950s, and offered stunning views. But to accommodate the needs of a family with two children, and to maximize the light, the entire space was gutted and the flow streamlined by her firm Tucker & Marks. The designer then completed each room using a subtle palette, luxe materials, and bold, graphic elements. The result is an elegant refuge in the heart of the city.
