Behind the Design

Inside Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams' Spring 2019 Seating Launch

This year, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams is celebrating 30 years of impeccable design and innovation. Formed as a small upholstery company in North Carolina in 1989, the brand is now an internationally recognized powerhouse for design. Comfort is always a priority for the brand, as they aim to design products to make lives easier without sacrificing great style. For Spring 2019, the brand's collection Make an Impression is all about being bold, from minimalist to maximalist, and their new line of products is perfect for statement-making in any pattern, color, texture or silhouette.

Take a look at some of the new seating offerings for this season — including a must-see line of small-scale accent chairs, Le Petite Seats Collection, inspired by Italian design, as well as classic yet contemporary sofas that can bring a modern upgrade to any interior style.

LE PETITE SEAT COLLECTION

Jewel Full Swivel Chair, Everson — The Jewel chair is a gem; quite literally, the chair's interpretation of the sleek lines of a jewel promises a luxe design touch for a contemporary home looking for glamorous accent seating. A truly standout silhouette and accent chair, the Jewel also offers impeccable details such as welt trim and double needle stitching.

Fifi Tibetan Wool Chair, Tibetan Fur — The Fifi is a small-scale accent chair covered in a soft, Tibetan wool that is both chic and playful. With a Mid-century vibe, Fifi is perfect for making a statment in a living room, bedroom or even smaller spaces such as a hall or entryway.

Poppy No Welt Full Swivel Chair, Calypso — Reminiscent of seating styles seen in European cafés, the Calypso offers a petite style with a tight, curved back and a comfortable seat. The swivel mechanism is hidden, providing a clean look that can work beautifully at a vanity, or for bistro table seating.

Mae Chair, Ginko — With a soft barrel back, the Mae is a graceful armless chair with classic details evoking warmth and comfort. Turned front legs on caster wheels allow for effortless mobility; Mae can be a beautiful, light and bright addition to an interior.

Bianca Full Swivel Chair, Everson — The luxe barrel chair you've always dreamed of, the Bianca features a clean, modern silhouette on a round base that can be treated with multiple finishes. With a full swivel, and return swivel options available, the chair not only is a sight for sore eyes but also a functional seating piece to bring into your interior.

Costello Chair, Shilo — Petite, charming and inspired by Mid-century, the Costello is an easy favorite. The contemporary barrel-back provides sheltering comfort and its simple but dynamic silhouette means it can work well in a set or pair, or as a conversation with larger pieces, such as a sofa.

Annie No Skirt Chair, Salvador — A scaled-down version of a classic skirted slipper chair, Annie is made for comfort. The shape and style of the Annie lends well to traditional, coastal or modern farmhouse decors, and the small size of the chair can work well in a number of different areas in the home.

SOFAS

Coco 85 Sofa, Indie — Inspired by Mid-Century design, Coco offers a modern silhouette with a subtle curve and splayed metal legs. The low shelter-style back, and pair of expansive, T-seat cushions create a sleek look that can work in any contemporary home — from eclectic to minimalist.

Cara 77 Sofa, Shilo — We can't get enough of the Cara sofa. With a sculptural look, the Cara is defined by a curved back and sloped arms. The clean modern lines are met with a comfortable, loose seat that's just begging to be enjoyed as a comfy and stylish spot to sit.
