Proving the depth of design inspiration in California's premier desert community, where Tamara Kaye-Honey saw glamour, Jiun Ho sees tranquility, tapping into the calm of Palm Springs in the custom furnishings he designed for the dining room in the Christopher Kennedy Compound Show House.
What was the inspiration for your designs?
In the dining room, I feature a brand-new design, the Kama Chair, which I designed specifically for this event. This wood chair with cowhide upholstery blends an architectural sensibility of '50s and '60s Palm Springs with the beautiful finishes and natural texture that characterize much of my furniture line, the Jiun Ho Collection.
The centerpiece of the room is the Osomo dining table, which I customized especially for the event with a top of stunning limestone to give a nod to the colors and textures of the surrounding deserts scape.
