Interior designer Suzanne Tucker brings her eye for classical detail and exquisite design to the San Francisco Fall Antiques Show this year, taking over as chair of the show after heading up the Designer Circle for the past several years. This year will be an extraordinary display of beautiful design with 60 dealers from around the world showcasing their collections with a special focus on quality and craftsmanship. In advance of the show, we asked Tucker to give us a first look at a few of the pieces that caught her eye as well as new product selections from Dering Hall that she would pair with these beautiful antiques. The San Francisco Fall Antiques show runs from October 22 - 25.
“This is just one of those one-in-a-lifetime pieces you can only see at the San Francisco Fall Antiques Show. It will be talked about and referred to for years to come I'm sure. My fellow textile aficionados will treasure the remarkable survival of the delicate silk material, as well as the fashionable subject matter.”
“This amazing piece would be perfect for a Cabinet of Curiosities-style room with an eclectic and textural assortment of pieces from different cultures, periods and styles.”
“The John Berggruen Gallery's focus on Wayne Thiebaud coincides with the publication of Wayne Thiebaud by Kenneth Baker and Nicholas Fox Weber this October, the most comprehensive and deluxe monograph on this celebrated and active American artist, spanning the length of his career, from the mid-1950s to the present.”
“This Japanese wool felt carpet from Kathleen Taylor's Lotus Collection would make the perfect wall hanging for an eclectic yet elegant lady's study with unabashed touches of pink and a textural variety of material from shagreen and leather to crystal and lucite.”
“This wonderful Austrian armoire with its elegant scroll detailing and beautiful coloring feels remarkably contemporary to me. I would turn it into a bar—its timeless and chic presence makes this a unique focal point in any room.”
