The Statement Piece: Modern Art Takes Center Stage in a Contemporary Master Bedroom

One of our favorite places to find what's new in the art and design world is Cultured Magazine. And flipping through the Winter 2013 issue, we were reminded that a good design scheme often starts with a specific piece of art. We were specifically inspired by a feature on Lynne Golob Gelfman's abstractionaist techniques in her new works, "Trued Surface". We chose her Tri-grid piece as the starting point for the master bedroom, selecting the furnishings and accessories to simply complement and enhance the abstractionist art piece. The colors in the Collins Rug directly play off of the artwork, whereas the other pieces simply suggest their influence. Most unique to the space is the Gold Bubble Chandelier by PELLE, which echoes the artwork's luminous composition.
