Located on Florida’s Bay Harbor Islands, this modernist home designed by KZ Architecture embraces indoor and outdoor living, combining water views with a curated collection of contemporary art and furnishings. Through the inventive use of concrete and glass, the firm was able to create a space that feels light and airy while still being able to withstand the strong Florida weather.

To make the most of the narrow lot, the firm designed the home with two distinct angular spaces that are connected by a long axis. The strong linear lines of the home’s exterior draw visitors to the entry, which is set back from the street.

A lily pond serves as the focal point of the front courtyard and creates a water edge to the living room, which is mirrored at the back of the home. A glimpse of the architectural staircase within adds visual interest to the exterior.
