Tour a Waterfront Colonial Home in New York's Hudson Valley

For this new home in New York's Hudson Valley, interiors firm Chango & Co. took inspiration from its idyllic waterfront location, balancing custom furniture, soft details and a crisp palette for a look of understated luxury.

The entryway is welcoming with white paint and panelling that allows the warmth of the hardwood floors to shine through. Sheer drapes on the large windows and glass doors in the living room beyond fill the space with soft light, and a custom sisal stair runner leads up to the second floor bedrooms.

The waterfront view can be enjoyed throughout the living room, which has multiple seating options, including a custom sofa in the main living area and a cozy couch in front of the bay windows. Slipcovered club chairs mean easy clean up for any accidental spills or mishaps—a must for a family with young kids.

This etched artwork was hand picked for the client. It mimics the rippling of the water and sets the palette for the waterfront home.

Gorgeous Paris metro chairs with custom seat cushions surround the antique metal and reclaimed wood dining table. Complementary bar stools provide additional seating at the island for casual mornings or a place for guests to chat with the host during meal preparation.

The day's shifting light is captured through large windows that line the back of the home. A white cabinet provides extra storage space in the dining area without making an obvious statement.

The powder room's subtle graphic wall paper picks up the grey and white tones of the marble sink top.

The upstairs hallway landing is an inviting spot with an upholstered bench that overlooks the river. A glass and polished nickel light fixture reflects the water and light.

The tufted headboard creates a comfortable setting in the master bedroom. The rug and pillows echo the blue tones of the water outside.
