What was the inspiration for the design?
At our first design meeting, I opened the closet door and found a hidden compartment that had original telephone wiring. We assume that our lounge may have been the telephone room. I decided that our inspiration for this room needed to be a nod to the history and glamour of this home.

The purple upholstered wall is a fantastic touch! How did you decide to add this detail?
in the design process, I envisioned turning the existing closets into an
inviting bench seat. The closets were not deep enough for hanging clothes and
seemed to be a waste of space. The purple upholstered wall was designed to add
depth and richness to the seat.

There’s some unexpected color combinations, tell us more about how you selected the palette and the different colors and patterns used.
inspiration for the colors in the room came from the Hermes decorative
pillow fabric. I first saw this fabric in LA and became obsessed with it. I
love using unexpected color combinations.
