The Last Word: The Orangery at Frampton Court

This orangery located in Gloucestershire was architect Richard Clutterbuck's last words to a gentlemanly game of architectural jousting.

The Orangery at Frampton Court in Gloucestershire is the ultimate display of architectural one-upmanship. After Timothy Gyde II built nearby Stouts Hill in 1743 outdoing Richard Clutterbuck’s earlier rebuilding of Frampton Court, the Rococo Gothic Orangery was Clutterbuck’s last word. And what a glorious last word it is.

You can rent the Orangery from £950 a week. Book in the second week in March and catch the nearby Cheltenham Festival.
