Bloomsbury Farm, in the rolling and fertile hills of Smyrna, they
acquired an ordinary 1960s ranch house that, at first glance, appeared
not to have much potential. But Palmer thought otherwise.
She knew the right person to fulfill her vision was Jackson, a
longtime family friend and owner of The Iron Gate, a spacious home
furnishings store in nearby Franklin, Tennessee. From the beginning,
Jackson and Palmer were in sync. “The family wanted a house that was
rustic, casual, and comfortable,” says Jackson. “I had a clear picture
right away. There are some projects where you struggle to find out what
the homeowner wants, but this was just the opposite.”
