It’s hard to believe that through all of my travels in Europe (Venice, Berlin, London), I have yet to blog about Paris. Artists have been flocking to Paris for centuries seeking inspiration for their work. I have always found trips to Paris to be uniquely inspiring. Everything in the city is so effortlessly chic – from the food to the fashion to its iconic architecture.
On a recent trip, I took in many of the popular sights – L’Arc de Triomphe, The Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, Versailles, to name a few. However, having visited many of the sites before, I found myself looking beyond the typical attractions. By simply changing my perspective – looking up and down – I found new inspiration. Parisian design really is in the details. Thoughtful attention is paid to each architectural element – the ceilings, columns, gates, doors, signage and flooring. Below are some snapshots I took that I think highlight the beautiful detail in Parisian architecture and interior design. Take note of the symmetry, repetition and linear pattern.
