Gorgeous Lacquerware Atelier found in Paris

Suzanne is constantly searching for the finest in antique lacquerware, from Japanese tonsu chests to Coromandel screens from the Kang Xi Dynasty in China. We were thrilled to have visited the workshop of a modern master of the ancient art of lacquerware, Ms. Anne Midavaine of Atelier Midavaine in Paris. Ms. Midavaine creates bespoke lacquer finishes for furniture and paneling in the tradition of her father and grandfather, who founded the company in 1919 at the height of French Art Deco.
