Jim Rose and Shaker Furniture

Working in reclaimed steel and finishing with soft wax, Jim Rose is producing Shaker inspired furniture that respects the characteristics and process of both Fine Art and Craft. His medium of steel is fully appropriate to the well grounded and well trained artist Jim Rose has always been. We absolutely love the Shaker furniture reimagined in steel, it gives it a more modern feel. His simple Shaker inspiration has now woven in the patchwork of Gee’s Bend quilts after seeing the Milwaukee Art Museum exhibition in 2003.

Jim Rose finds his materials in scrap yards across the Midwest and thrives in his Door County, Wisconsin workspace. Our dear friend and gallery owner Ann Nathan has shown his work now for over 20 years! We are big fans of Jim Rose with even a few pieces in our own collection!
