Lucio Fontana at the Musée D’Art Moderne

Lucio Fontana is one of our favorite Latin American artists. While he spent most of his life working in Milan, he was born Rosario, Argentina. In 1947 when Fontana returned to Milan, after seeking refuge from World War II in Argentina, he became the leader of the Spatialist Movement. This movement was characterized by light and real space. In 1949 Fontana creates his first series of punctured canvas’s for which he is known today. If you are in Paris before August 24th you must stop by the Musée D’Art Moderne to see the retrospective of Lucio Fontana, 200 works are displayed from the 1920’s through Fontana’s death in 1968.
