Steve and I just arrived home after our site visit to the charming French Normandy house we are designing, and I am so excited to share some progress photos with you!
This is what the wood ceilings looked like when we visited last month.
This week, all of the wood ceilings are getting their coat of gray (a custom color made to match an antique wood beam).
A light wash of white is applied on top of the gray to bring out the grain texture of the wood.
The wood beams in this bedroom were also finished using this same technique. That's Laura, our fantastic design associate, measuring for the custom daybed.
The view from the daybed is pretty amazing.
I love this phase of construction! Everything is getting more detailed, including this closet wall in one of the bedrooms. The wall will be painted Farrow and Ball "Wimborne White" to match the other walls in the room.
The showers are starting to be tiled with the Waterworks Echo tile (Chino color glaze).
Steve added a skylight in this shower to provide light while still maintaining privacy.
All of the custom sink cabinets are also being installed now.
I am looking forward to seeing the Afion marble slabs installed in the master shower. They are going to be gorgeous.
Of course, it's pretty difficult to compete with this view from the master bedroom!
The antique terra cota floor from Exquisite Surfaces is going to add rustic beauty to the powder room in the turret.
The exterior stucco is now complete, and the chimney caps are in place.
It was so exciting to see the house without all of the scaffolding! Imagine how lovely it will look once the fencing and the port-o-potty are gone ;)
I hope you enjoyed this update. A special Thank You to our amazing clients for allowing us to share their home.
