I wanted to pop in to share with you the room behind our little antique door. It's one of the rooms where I spend a lot of time (I bet many of you do too).
I just cleaned it up for you...
Don't hit your head on the door... it's a wee bit short (but perfect for me)...
Welcome to my laundry room!
I have two Medium Beadboard Drying Racks from Ballard Design hanging on the walls.
Two vintage baskets hold extra hangers and single socks waiting for their mates to be found...
I have plenty of storage behind the linen curtains... shelves for cleaning supplies and tall storage for the vacuum, mop, and step stool.
I used an un-lacquerred brass 5/8" poles from Morgik for the curtain rod.
We selected two Schoolhouse Electric "Hendrix" lights for ceiling fixtures.. I believe they now call it the "Defiance".
I have a large bleached White Oak island in the middle of the room. There is enough room below for four baskets (lights, darks, whites, and dry clean). The baskets are from Pottery Barn.
The view of the front garden makes folding laundry much more enjoyable!
My laundry sink is between the island and the washer and dryer.
Our Kohler Gilford sink is the perfect size for hand washing sweaters or giving one of the pups a bath.
We chose a Barber Wilsons wall mount faucet in un-lacquered brass.
For convenience, we located the laundry room directly off of our closet.
The laundry room is hidden by a pair of mirrored doors.
The aesthetic of the laundry room blends nicely with the rest of the house, so it really doesn't bother me when the doors are left open.
The little drop pulls from the Golden Lion are a lovely detail.
Well, it's time to fold the laundry!
I hope you enjoyed your visit to my laundry room.
