Call for Entries: 2013 Stanford White Awards

October 7, 2013 is the submission deadline for the second annual Stanford White Awards for Excellence in Classical and Traditional Design. These awards recognize achievement in individual projects in architecture, interiors, landscape, urbanism, and building craftsmanship & artisanship throughout New York, New Jersey, and Fairfield County, Connecticut.

Award recipients will be honored at a reception on Friday, December 6, in New York City.

Announcing the ICAA Library

Thoughtfully compiled over the years from donations from members, instructors, and friends of the Institute, the ICAA’s collection of books, monographs, sketch books, and exhibition catalogs focuses on the classical tradition in art and architecture and serves to support the intellectual and creative needs of students, instructors, and members of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art.

The library catalog can now be accessed online at classicist.org where you can search by keyword, title, author, etc.

The ICAA Library is a non-circulating research library available to members and the general public by appointment.

Registration is Now Open for Spring 2013 Continuing Education Courses

Each term the ICAA offers a dynamic array of Continuing Education courses for design professionals; the general public; and students of art, architecture, and planning; catering to a range of interests and levels of expertise. All courses may be taken as elective credits for the ICAA’s respected Certificate in Classical Architecture. The ICAA is also a proud provider of AIA Continuing Education Hours, and issues certificates appropriate for fulfilling professional and state certification requirements.

With close to 20 courses available, catering to every skill level and interest, Spring 2013 is the perfect time to foster your passion for and commitment to the classical tradition.

Highlights include courses on Classical Interior Design and Rendering, Greek and Roman sculpture at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Advanced Wash Rendering and Proportion, the history of Fifth Avenue, and French Period Styles.
