Iconic DCW in birch plywood, designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1945 and produced by the molded plywood division of Evans Products. Early label the second in the chronology dates the production to c. 1946-7. With all original elements also pointed to an early production date the 5/2/5 screw configuration, zinc screws, racetrack-shaped rear shock mount, and wedge-shaped insert in the laminated cross-section of the seat support, all pictured. With an old finish and good patina. In fine structural condition with some wear to the finish and to the edges of the legs and minor wear throughout, consistent with age and use.
