In 1965, a young Abraham Moradzadeh started a small rug gallery in his native Tehran, Iran, which grew quickly as he accumulated knowledge about the artistry and craftsmanship that go into the finest rugs. Moradzadeh decided to immigrate to the U.S. in 1979 and reopen his company in Los Angeles, where it once again enjoyed success. Over the years, top designers came to recognize and rely on his immense expertise. Fast forward to today: His son Sam and design director Christina Tullock help drive the creative team at what is now known simply and appropriately as Woven. The pair is inspired to develop rugs that ground the idea of home, culture and comfort. Esker (2015) is a two-colored hand-knotted rug that features a flat weave and alternating cut pile for an appealing ridged effect. Substantial and lush, it was designed to evoke fields of rolling hills in a landscape of abundance. Made in India.
