A remarkably detailed fossil of a fish embedded in shale. From the Green River formation dating from the Eocene epoch, lasting from 56 to 33.9 million years ago. The present day Green River area of Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah is known as a rich source of fossils. The fossil is mounted on a wood panel for hanging.
