Illuminated Brutalist Palm Tree Sculpture in Paul Evans Style Pot, Circa 1970
A spectacular illuminated torch-cut palm tree sculpture in a Brutalist Paul Evans style pot, circa 1970. We are unsure the maker but shares a similar style as C’ Jere for Artisans House, Tom Greene, and Silas Seandel. This sculpted palm tree is fabricated from pieces of brass that have been cut, torched, welded and assembled to form a tropical creation. The bulb is embedded into the Paul Evans style planter which casts a light upward, illuminating the tree in an attractive glow. This eye-catching piece would be a great addition as part of a classic, contemporary or mid-century modern entry, hallway, dining room, living room, den, man (or woman!) cave, family room, office or bedroom. It would also be an apt choice in a corporate, retail or hospitality location such as a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club, workspace studio, executive office or in a luxe clothing emporium. Measurements: 60" height x 26" diameter Good vintage condition. Possess an admirable patina. These traces of age and use bring vibrancy to the metal. Pot in good condition – interior stuffing could be replaced.
