Distinctive Design for Practical Living

CW Design, LLC helps homeowners and developers face the challenges of creating kitchens, baths, and other home spaces that are both practical and beautiful. Our goal is to transform interiors—whether a busy kitchen, a quiet bathroom retreat, or a work or family space—into highly functional and beautiful work and living spaces. We strive to make the remodeling experience an enjoyable one. To that end we help you with every aspect of design, budgeting, sourcing materials, and project management. We work with eclectic styles, from period traditional to contemporary and transitional, with an emphasis on clean lines and classic design sensibilities. We collaborate with clients to realize their vision and take it from conception to reality.

After many years in high-tech management, Cassia returned to her roots in the arts. She holds a Masters in Arts Administration from NYU, and a certificate in Decorative Arts and Kitchen and Bath Design from the Boston Architectural College. She has traveled extensively, speaks Italian, and has been influenced and inspired by the wonderful, eclectic world of art and design. After working in a local custom kitchen showroom, she founded CW Design, LLC to address all aspects of home design, with a particular expertise in kitchens, bathrooms, and built-in furniture. Cassia’s award-winning work has been featured in local and national publications, and she has participated in product reviews, professional panels, and as a judge for kitchen and bath design contests. Cassia is a member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), and was certified an Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer.

Ten Questions

What’s your go-to classic color choice?
I especially love warm neutral colors. You never get tired of them and they leave room for dramatic and bold accents.
Is there a hotel that’s most inspired your work while traveling?
I've travelled extensively in Europe and I am often inspired by their fresh ideas, use of varied materials, melding of old and new, and their ability to make the most of tiny spaces. I especially like to stay in classic old hotels that may have frescoed ceilings but contemporary bathrooms.
Which pieces of technology do you use to document design inspiration?
I always have my phone camera with me. I take photos of colors, ideas, and inspirations big and small.
Where do you go to spot new style?
Everywhere and anywhere. It's important to keep your eyes open wherever you are, because there is inspiration in the most unexpected places.
Do you have a favorite restaurant (for the design and the food, of course)?
My favorite place to eat is not a restaurant but my father's home. He creates the most delicious Chinese cuisine, and has collections of objects from all over the world and from a lifetime of travel and living. Every time I go I discover something new and enjoy the many design 'moments' in each room.
How do you usually start your weekend?
I like to take my time and ease into the day with a cappuccino and the day's news.
Who or what is your biggest design influence?
My parents were travelers and collectors of antiques and art. Their eclectic styles routed in strong fundamentals form the basis of my interest in design.
How do you keep it all together?
Now that I'm an empty nester I admit it's become a whole lot easier to juggle life. My two cats help keep me grounded, especially when sitting on my lap.
Design a garden: groomed or freestyle?
I started with a planned garden but it quickly grew into more of a freestyle cacophony of color and texture. I love that every spring the contours change and I discover something new and surprising popping up.
