Japanese Taisho Period Byobu Screen With Noh Scenes

Large Japanese two-panel Taisho period Byobu screen featuring colorful Noh scenes from a narrative play. Produced with handmade mulberry paper with rich texture and fiber. The screen is set in a natural finished wood frame with each scene measuring 10-12 inches wide and 9 inches high. There is a large blue geometric pattern border along the bottom of the screen. Wonderful large size and scale. Dimensions: 72"w x .75"d x 68"h Circa: Early 20th Century, Japan Materials: Wood, Paper Condition: Distressed, minor wear consistent with age and use. Shows minor signs of wear on paper with small losses on front and large losses and tears on the backside.
