Klaus Grabe Bauhaus "C5" Outdoor Plywood Chaise
This yellow plywood slat ‘C5’ chaise lounge from the 1950s is known for its curvaceous plywood frame. At the time, plywood was a new material and it presented new design options of which this is a sculptural, prime example. Klaus Grabe moved from Germany when the Bauhaus shut down to Mexico City. He left Mexico after a few years for New York where he worked in architecture and furniture design. I found it painted yellow. It appears to be newer paint.
