Late 18th to Early 19th C Charleston Mahogany Four Poster Bed
This bed was made in Charleston, South Carolina in the late 18th or early 19th century. This piece features beautiful carving on the foot posts in the form of reeded palm columns with carved husk leaves above beehive stacked rings. Beneath the beehive turnings are inlaid details and block feet. The slip-in head board and the finials are not original to the piece, but are of excellent quality.
This bed will fit a custom queen mattress with cut corners. Offered by David Skinner Antiques & Period Lighting
