A Lutyens Furniture & Lighting Product
The Marshcourt table is the most versatile of tables!
In its classic form it is made up of 2 semi-circular D-ends that push together to form a circular dining table. The table is extended by means of rectangular, freestanding table inserts that are slotted in between the D-ends. The rectangular inserts can be used as side tables when a smaller table is required or fitted together to form independent rectangular dining tables. As well as or instead of freestanding inserts, we can also supply leaves to extend the table.
The Tuscan column legs are a classic Lutyens motif and can be found elsewhere in his work, particularly in his designs for the Viceroy’s residence in New Delhi. The stretchers form a perfect circle when the table is in the round. The rectangular inserts feature inverted semi-circular stretchers. The Heathcote variant of the table has a slightly more intricate stretcher design but its elements build to the same effect.
The table is available in any timber and with a variety of veneer details for the top.We make the table as 4, 6 and 8-seaters when closed. The 4-seater has a diameter of 1300mm / 4’ 3", the 6-seater 1500mm / 5’ and the 8-seater 1830mm / 6’. Each rectangular insert measures 750mm / 2’ 5" in width and the table can accommodate as many or indeed as few as required. Both the Marshcourt Dining Table and the Heathcote variant are also available as a fixed circular table or as a fixed rectangle.
The occasional table shares details with its larger counterparts in the base structure and stretcher details and works to accompany them in the same room.
