A Navajo weaving, circa 1920. A regional rug, likely from northeastern Arizona. A classic geometric pattern that is complex in it’s composition when one considers the weaver was not following a pattern plan but was skillful in forecasting the pattern in her mind’s eye. Although the colors remain vivid, time has mellowed the colors without fading them. The contrast of colors remains sharp and defined.
