Peter Hamburger for Knoll Lucite Sconces - A Pair
Yes his name was Peter Hamburger and no he did not invent the Hamburger. Nor was he part of the Hamburglars. But he was a great designer and he designed some of the coolest stuff for Knoll. In case you are not familiar with Knoll – they are an incredible company which was led by Florence Knoll – a pioneering female in the world of Mid Century Modern design. These lamps are simply great. I have a pair in chrome in my bedroom and I love them. We can move the swing arm back and forth – for reading you move it in, when you are done reading and it’s time for Netflix or chillin – you can swing the arms back out again so they are out of head (or other parts) way. You can add lamp shades to them but instead I opted for these cool LED lights that look great without any shade. I also have matching tubular nightstands which paired with the lamps just are too cool for school. But you don’t need to just use them in the bedroom, that’s just one idea. You can also use these sconces in a classic or contemporary dining room, mid-century-modern living room, den, family room, office or bedroom. They would also be an apt choice in a corporate, retail or hospitality location such as a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club, workspace studio, executive office or in a luxe clothing emporium. Good vintage condition. Some slight pitting and wear to areas of the brass plates. As expected, signs of use commensurate with age are evident.
