Pierre Paulin for Artifort Ribbon Chair
For your consideration is a striking piece of 1970s design the “Ribbon” chair from Pierre Paulin for Artifort.
Paulin was one of Frances leading designer/decorators, having transformed the Elysee Palace for President Mitterand. A recent retrospective at the Pompidou celebrated this iconic and iconoclastic designer, who broke free of the constraints of mid-century modern and helped usher in an era of pop.
Unlike many designer pieces, this chair is actually supremely comfortable and does not sacrifice functionality for beauty.
The chair was previously reupholstered. There are some scuffs along the front of the base, and slight looseness in the fabric on the seat. Usable as-is, or also a candidate for restoration. Offered by Idealforms
